Bliss

I've been looking forward to this shoot, well since about two weeks after he was conceived. The shoot was wonderful, his parents have a huge bonus room with a large window. I had tons of space to work in and move around, and mr. man did eventually cooperate. So many more to come.

21 hours and 5 days later

I present little Miss Rachel. From maternity, to labor, to this newborn shoot at 5 days old, this little plum pie is already one of my veteran clients.

My Fourth Child

This is Cailyn. She was the subject of my first ever portrait shoot. I love Cailyn like my own. I took care of her for almost a year before Josh got ill, I love that kid like one of my own, and I fear my own wore off on that kid. A session with Cailyn is always full of personality.

I gave birth

After spending 21 hours at the hospital myself, the longest photo shoot I will ever take part in, I feel like I gave birth to this story. As you can imagine I have a lot of photos, but I managed to pull out a few for a sneak peek. Congratulations to mom and family on the birth of little Rachel.

Mr. Unpredictable

Evan had a plan, one he didn't clue any of us in on. He surprised mom 12 days early, broke his water in the parking lot of the hospital, and was delivered within 3 hours of their arrival. I showed up, took just a few pictures, then stepped out for the epidural, and bam Evan came out before I could get back in! But I was there when mom got to hold him again for the first time after a quick trip up to the NICU, and when he met his family.

Then Mr. Unpredictable decided he liked that NICU and got himself back up there for a week of antibiotics. I was honored to be able to visit him there at 28 hours old, and watch mom and dad adore him, and Evan adore them right back.

A walk in the park

Our littlest member of the conjoined backyard fence club turned 9 months and took a walk in our best kept secret with me for her portraits. Hope this sneak peek will tide over her very patient momma. I am going to get caught up!

Bella

Literally less than 12 hours before I was supposed to be at an airport I was off on a photo shoot with my brother, his wife, and their gorgeous daughter. It was time, well overdue, for her 1 Year Portraits, and it had been 9 months since we had given that whole family portrait thing a whirl. There are a couple traditional family portraits that turned out, and many more Ella being adorable, this is just a sneak peek of the few from each that caught my eye, and yes weird camera lens flares catch my eye these days, besides it won't be much longer before Ella is too tall for mama to put baby on her hip!

Oh girlfriend

Not only do I have friends with cute babies, they have sisters who have cute babies. Anna-Marie was my first newborn girl, she was so cute, and very cooperative. You may remember her of birth announcement "baby-in-a-box" fame. She also wore a tutu and curled up on a dining room chair for my artistic amusement. The chair was my idea and I give mom and auntie credit for going along with me on that one.

I Love My Friends

I love my friends. I love them because they break down over 8 months and agree to let me do maternity pictures of them, even though they really didn't want any. I love Betsy, she picked me up in her car and took me and her 2 year old to Creekside, on a 90 F day, with her big ole pregnant belly. It was hot, and she walked around in a very public place and let me take pictures of her belly after a long day of work and being pregnant. I love Matt for showing up too (he's in some) and amusing Avery, and buying ice cream, and putting up with me, on a hot day. Did I mention it was really hot?

And the one at right above, the sun shone on her for exactly three shutter releases, it was almost exactly as I hoped it would be. I really love Betsy, and her belly, and her golden hair, for putting up with me.

And I love this kid, fashion statement Nemo band-aids and all. I have a feeling I am going to love the bump of a brother of hers a whole lot too.

New Things

So I am still trying to get my footing after Josh's relapse into cancer-ville. I am hoping to get ultra caught up in the next two weeks. I am also exploring some new options for gallery viewing, as seen above with some pictures I took in California of our host family's daughter. I wish I had more opportunities to do beach shoots, so much fun, and so much to learn!

Little Princess

I should mention that this was a birthday shoot first and then the belly (see post below) got invited, I mean since little sister was there, might as well get some maternity practice. Combining the shoots was a breeze because this little princess was an absolute delight. She had so much fun and loved hamming it up for the camera. How can you not love the dress mom got for $10 from an online bridal shoppe going out of business? We should all get flower girl dresses just to play in!
