A friend of mine was kind enough to subject her boys (and her toes) to a very cold day for my first ever snow shoot, and my last photo shoot of 2009. The boys were on winter break and agreed to put up with us mommy types. . .sort of. As you'll see we had one brother who I couldn't get not to smile, and one who made us work for it. Sometimes the latter are the most fun.

Thank you boys, and mom, for just an awesome session! Can't wait to see you again in summer, you know, sans hats and coats and numb toes! I like the photo on the right better than the left, I have 2 older brothers and the second is so much more real brothers than the first.

Told mom I could catch him, and this didn't even have mom goofing next to me.

Sweet Little Man

Welcome to 2010! It's be nearly a month since I posted a new session, or any post for you all. It was the holidays, and two in-patient rounds of chemo, but also a much needed hiatus. Sorry I didn't announce that, hope none of you were wondering where I was hiding! If you check out the "In the Queue" list to the right you will notice that in the next 8-10 weeks it is going to be literally raining newborns! Two of them are family, two of them are old and sweet friends, and the other two are new and wonderful friends. And for the curious out there, of the five, only one has announced himself, the rest are all surprises! And that first one is past due date as I type, maybe calling him/her out on the internet for being tardy will get some labor started!

But until the newborns start killing me with their yumminess, I have other things of my own cooking. Like two sessions to finish from 2009, yeeeep! I also am working on getting the official CTS photography site up, but I am atrociously behind and my webmaster just moved across country, so it's coming. I'll be hosting a little portfolio contest on facebook to help narrow down the field of photos from 2009 for my official portfolio albums. It'll be a lot of fun.

I've also been sprucing up my proof hosting site so feel free to click on over there and take a peek. When I get my portfolio albums all picked out I'll change that slideshow to reflect my work, but until then the album of my family is running, because I love it.

On to the photo goodness! Here is the final shots from my session with my favorite little nearly 4 month old and his big sister. Mom has waited a long time for these, and if I didn't deliver soon she was never going to set a date for his 6 month pictures in you know. . . 2 weeks or so. I'd love to swear "Never Wonder When in Two Thousand Ten!" but let's face it, that's just like challenging my son to thwart me, and he is always ready for a challenge.

Who needs a studio? I love client home sessions, love love love them. Ok momma, can I please book his 6 month session now?

Demolishing Since 2006

A special client, my son Joshua Ryan Riederer. A few days before christmas he'll turn three, and already he has quite the story. I was immensely thankful to have captured these moments this year. His immediate relapse and the severe chemotherapy regime of the past few months (and months ahead), made it even more important to me to capture my son, his smirks and silly faces, his joy, without the glaring side effects the cancer and it's treatment is having on his body. There is one photo without the hat and it is remarkable how much "sicker" he looks in that photo.

I love you demolition man, thank you for letting mommy have these pictures, I'll treasure them always.

Ella in the City

Oh Ella, you are always a guaranteed fun shoot. Of course I am biased, she's my niece and all, but what an awesome morning we had together. Thanks for sharing the second half of your shoot with your two loopey nutjob cousins (next time will have a new baby and hopefully a visiting baby Bekah for a five cousin extravaganza)! Have a fun time choosing mom and dad, cousin togetherness to follow.

I'm Not Tired

With three awesome siblings and my daughter running around, we had a hard time convincing this one to take a newborn nap for us. Don't worry we got her in front of the stove and so toasty that even a lick from the cat didn't wake her! I can't wait to head back out to this family's home in a few months and take more pictures, I wanted a proof set twice this big for how much fun we had. Next time, less gabbing, more pictures. . . that's doable, right? Errr, maybe not, see you soon Mama.

Fall on the "Farm"

A crazy, fun, and full session at a local park with this gorgeous family of 5. Charlie loves tractors, so we busted out his John Deere gear for some play shots at the end. Followers will recognize this family, Alison from her little sis's maternity and newborn sessions as well as her own 4th birthday pics this summer, Charlie was in some of the group newborn pics too. And of course, we all know baby Rachel, she of infamous 21 hour labor photo shoot fame! She is getting so big and adorable, can't wait to see her again for a solo shoot just for her 6 month birthday! I think Mom and Dad look pretty fabulous for 3 kids under the age of 4! You'll see some of these photos featured in the holiday card gallery on christmas day.

Toasty Warm

This session was a special treat for me and my daughter, not only a photo session but an afternoon with friends wrapped in their warm and comfortable hospitality. It's an added bonus to be proofing this session in the dim light of a chilly hospital room. Just looking at them I feel warm and toasty, and hugged by momma Julie, and all four of her cherubs.

City Girl

You know it's a good session when you have a a hard time just narrowing down your favorites! Then again I am partial, seeing as she is my niece. I know, it's raining nieces on this blog! My brothers make cute kids. . .or is it their wonderful wives that get the credit?

Falling In Love

This is and will always be, my first engagement shoot. I love these guys for being willing to be my guinea pigs. I had no idea what I was doing, and still managed a bunch of shots I am very proud of. I can't wait for it to snow so we can venture out again, to apply all the things I learned the first time, and well, just to have a blast again! The peeking around the tree photo included just for Khadir, Liz and I had a lot of fun teasing him that we were going to make him do super cheesy dreamy photos. And you just have to love Liz for tromping through the grass in those spectacular heel!

Fall in

This little guy was full of energy, which was good because it was chilly for our shoot and you need the warmth from all that running around! He and his parents were such a delight to spend a beautiful fall evening with. How could you not fall in love with those baby blues and the beautiful fall colors.
